Great food. Great service The roll preparation was fantastic and had great flavors. Don't even think about using the soya sauce! The kitchen is right next to the dining room which allows you to see the chefs working on their culinary art. Enjoy,.. we loved the experience. Thank you.

This was my first visit to Yujiro since their recent renovation, and I was genuinely impressed. The space has been completely transformed into a sleek, modern setting with warm, inviting lighting that sets the perfect mood for any occasion. Even more exciting is their revamped menu. What used to be a more traditional, bento-style offering has evolved into a bold, innovative fusion of Japanese cuisine. Chef Ed brings his unique flair to every dish, crafting sushi that surprises you with layers of texture and unexpected flavors—each bite is a creative journey. From start to finish, the food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and comfortable, making it ideal for a cozy date night, a joyful family gathering, or a special celebration. If you're looking for a refreshing take on Japanese food that’s both delicious and thoughtfully prepared, Yujiro is definitely worth checking out.

Yujiro is one of two Japanese restaurants that I personally know source much of their fish directly from Japan. That, combined with accolades for being among the top restaurants in the country, ensure that you’ll be getting top quality food. That was indeed the case, where every role was authentic and fresh. Delish and we’ll worth the price (30-40/person, depending on how hungry and exorbitant you are). Highly recommend the cold sake, which comes in a decanter that looks like it just came out of da Vinci’s laboratory. Got the hot sake and it just came in a traditional sake decanter with product branding and was jealous of the neighbor’s table! The ambiance is intimate and feels like you’re lucky enough to be friends with a rich Japanese chef who invited a few select guests over. Would be great for special occasions, dates, or an elegant evening out, but definitely doesn’t require such formality to enjoy! Overall, Yujiro is one of the best spots in the city for quality Japanese sushi. Can’t wait to try their ramen and donburi options in the future! If you don’t mind 75% quality at 90% the cost, the city has plentiful other options.

5/5. If I could rate 6/5 I would. Easily one of the best if not the best restaurant in Winnipeg. The atmosphere is modern and chill but the attention to detail in every dish absolutely shines. Beautiful presentation, but most importantly high quality.

amazing sushi restaurant!! the menu is definitely on the pricey side, but sooo worth it because the food is top-tier. we got agedashi tofu, assorted tempura, unagi roll, butterfly roll, deluxe california roll, spider roll, and the sendai roll. everything was delicious, but the sendai roll was my fave... sooo good service was great too, and the interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful definitely a place worth splurging on

I wish I had more photos to share - but that also must speak on how amazing the food was, we couldn’t wait to dig in! We learned that reservations are recommended - we came as a walk-in not realizing, but the hostess was able to fit us in! I’ve always raved about how the best sushi I ever had was in British Columbia and that Manitoba simply couldn’t beat the quality British Columbia had to offer (being closer to the coast). Today, my boyfriend and I can both agree that Yujiro proved us wrong and they were in fact better than the sushi we had in British Columbia - wow! And they definitely hold the title for best sushi in Manitoba, I’ll definitely be back. We each ordered their “winter lover” drink special, and assortment of nigiri (king salmon, BBQ eel, hamachi (yellow tail), and red snapper), baku dan and nagano rolls - we placed a second order of their nigiri because it was just that good! My boyfriend ordered some of their oysters (which he said were amazing - he almost ordered more), and their nigata maki roll. I couldn’t eat those due to a shellfish allergy - which the staff were very aware and cautious with! We ordered their morel and black trumpet tempura as well - but it turned out that they only offered that during their Valentine’s Day special and could no longer do it, so our server suggested their stuffed mushroom tempura instead (we agreed without looking at the menu beforehand to see what was in it). It wasn’t until our server brought it to our table when they shared that it had shrimp in it, so I couldn’t eat that. But my other half enjoyed it! Overall, it was an amazing visit and we will definitely be back! Hands down, the best sushi in Manitoba and I can 100% understand why they have a sticker on their front door stating they were one of “Canada’s Best 100 Restaurants” - they definitely deserve that title.

Excellent food, great atmosphere for going with friends and family. The service was super, as was the presentation. We ordered tempura for starters, then assorted sashimi, couple of nigiris, and some maki rolls. Enjoyed the evening a lot.
